Get Dan Fisher's New Art Autobiography
For all of my fifty-year art professional career I have endeavored to make full use of what I consider to be our cultural legacy—namely, the Renaissance and Modernism.
From the former we were enlightened by extraordinary personal visions of reality and the invention of Linear Perspective. From the latter we discovered intense modes of expression as well as a cut-to-the-bone reduction of the basic pictorial construct. This can be summed up as having bestowed us with a heightened awareness of: Geometry, Gesture, and Illusion. As artists, it is our job to pursue a meaningful fusion of all three.
